Renowned singer-turned-actress, Tiwa Savage, sparked discussions after revealing that the inspiration for her debut movie, "Water & Garri," came to her while she was inebriated.
The movie, which draws from Tiwa Savage's 2021 EP, features her in the lead role as Aisha, a successful fashion designer, supported by actors like Mike Afolarin and others.
However, following the movie’s release, some reviews have been below average, particularly from critics like Daniel Regha who described the movie as a 1.5/10.
Tiwa Savage revealed during a speech that the movie was an inspiration she had while she was drunk and alone, stirring mixed reactions from movie critics.
“This has been a labour of love for over two years. Like I have said before, this was an idea I had while I was drunk in my room and when I brought this idea to my amazing team and they said this was just a brilliant idea,” she said.
