Rufai Oseni, Arise TV presenter, expresses strong disapproval of the Super Eagles' performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Ivory Coast. The Super Eagles suffered a defeat to the host country at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.
In a series of tweets from his X account, Oseni strongly criticized Jose Peseiro’s men, labeling their performance as 'woeful' and highlighting the disappointment of having just one shot on goal during the match.
He expressed his frustration, stating, “Don’t politicize this loss, it’s not about politics, the team was woeful.
“We had just one shot on goal! We were terrible today.
“So upset I really hoped the boys would win it for those that died during the semifinals. That makes me sad.
“So let’s go back to our problems, food is expensive ooo.”
Ivory Coast staged a comeback to defeat Nigeria 2-1, with William Troost-Ekong scoring for Nigeria, and Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller securing the victory for Ivory Coast.
