Former BBNaija housemate, Phyna, candidly reflects on the judgment and criticism she faced for undergoing an abortion years ago, expressing regret for the decision.
Having previously shared her experience with abortion and facing public scrutiny, Phyna opens up in a recent podcast with Doyin. She emphasizes that she isn't proud of the abortion and reveals that if faced with a similar situation today, she would choose to keep the child.
Addressing the media's portrayal of her views on abortion, Phyna clarifies that her statement about every woman having had an abortion was misconstrued. She emphasizes the difficult circumstances she faced at 20 years old, highlighting that the pregnancy was unplanned, and she didn't want it to jeopardize her future.
In her own words:
“I didn’t want to talk about it [abortion] anymore because it is obvious a lot of bloggers try to twist my words to their satisfaction. This is something that happened a very long time ago, too young, as at then I think around 20 years, I knew I wanted to be somebody in life.
“It’s not something I am proud of, I mean nobody should be proud of that, but this happened while I was younger. I knew what I went through. Nobody knew what I went through, it’s not something I am proud of but let’s call a spade a spade.”
