Renowned broadcaster, Nedu Wazobia, delves into the prevalent issue of high divorce rates in the Nigerian entertainment industry, shedding light on the primary cause according to his perspective.
According to Nedu Wazobia, the crux of divorce in celebrity marriages often boils down to a fundamental lack of peace. In his recent interview with HIP TV, he emphasized the crucial role peace plays in the success of any marriage and asserted that the absence of mental well-being is a significant factor contributing to divorce.
Expressing his perspective, Nedu Wazobia highlighted the importance of not enduring a bad marriage, advocating for prioritizing peace of mind. He stated, “My take on divorce is, if it doesn’t work, then take a walk. I’m all for peace of mind. Whatever is not giving me peace, I don’t want it. I can’t come and go and kill myself."
He continued, addressing the misconception about enduring a bad marriage for the sake of others, saying, “Some people tell you, it’s your cross, carry am. No, na only Jesus dey carry cross. If you’re not giving me peace of mind, then what am I doing with you? Absolutely, nothing."
In a strong affirmation of protecting one's mental well-being, Nedu Wazobia encouraged individuals to evaluate whether they go home every day for the sake of the kids or because of genuine joy with their spouse. He concluded with a resolute stance, stating, “If the person you are married to doesn’t give you joy, then what are you doing? If it’s not working, get out.”
