The leaders of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) have taken the decision to indefinitely suspend Nollywood actor Jerry Williams due to his involvement in drug abuse. This action was conveyed through a statement released by Mr Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN. The statement explained that the association had been closely monitoring Jerry Williams since December and had observed his excessive misuse of illicit drugs. As a result, the decision was made to suspend him from all movie sets in order to prevent any potential dangers or hazards that his drug abuse might pose to other actors.

According to the statement, Jerry Williams' involvement in illicit substances had been a cause for concern for the guild since last year. Efforts had been made to provide him with minor treatments, but unfortunately, he had consistently failed to comply. Given the seriousness of the situation, the AGN deemed it necessary to take immediate action to protect not only Jerry Williams but also the safety of other actors who might be working alongside him on set.

Consequently, the decision to suspend Jerry Williams indefinitely was made, pending the receipt of a clean bill of health from a qualified medical practitioner or professional specializing in drug abuse. The AGN intends to ensure that Jerry Williams receives the necessary assistance and treatment before reinstating him into the fold of the association.
