Basketmouth, a popular Nigerian comedian whose real name is Bright Okpocha, has spoken out against those who believed his separation from his wife Elsie was simply a joke. The couple had been married for 12 years before announcing their separation on social media in December 2022. While some initially believed it to be a prank, the father of four has confirmed in a recent interview that they are indeed separated at the moment, though he declined to provide further details. In response to those who questioned whether the announcement was a publicity stunt, Basketmouth stated that he does not bring his personal life into the public space and that the decision to go public with their separation was made for reasons known only to him. Despite the separation, he emphasized that he and Elsie are still on good terms and that everything is fine between them.
