Mr Ibu's second son, Daniel Okafor, vehemently denies the allegations leveled against him and his stepsister, Jasmine, by his stepmother, Stella Maris, concerning the control of the bank account designated for monetary contributions towards the renowned actor's medical expenses.
Stella Maris, in a prior statement on her Instagram page, accused Jasmine of taking charge of the said account, where compassionate Nigerians have been contributing funds for Mr Ibu's health. The situation has escalated as the family grapples with public scrutiny.
Responding to the mounting controversy, Jasmine declined to engage in the online drama, expressing her primary concern for her father's well-being. Instead, she directed inquiries to Daniel Okafor, Mr Ibu's second son, who then provided insights into the unfolding situation.
“I do not want to be involved with the online drama, at least not yet. I am more concerned for Daddy’s well-being,” she said.
She, however, directed the news publication to reach out to the actor’s second son, who introduced himself as Daniel Okafor.
“My name is Daniel Okafor; I am John Okafor’s second son. There is no truth in what Stella Maris has been sharing online. Jasmine does not have access to that account; I have access to it. I am the signatory to the account and my father’s next of kin,” he stated.
Daniel clarified that Stella Maris is his stepmother but chose not to disclose further details about his biological mother.
“She is my stepmother. My mother is not around at the moment,” Daniel said.
