The incident occurred as they were heading to a high-profile wedding in the North, for which Falz was reportedly paid a million dollars to perform. Originally planning to travel by plane, they opted for a road trip due to ticketing issues. However, one friend expressed concerns about taking the road, prompting a prayer session led by the rapper himself before dismissing any worries since it was daytime.

As they drove, a sudden loud bang startled them awake. They found a man with an AK47 in the middle of the road, having fired three shots at their car. The third shot tragically struck their driver in the eye. Describing the chaotic scene, Falz said, “We see this turban tying, AK47 wielding, dangerous-looking men in the middle of the expressway, maybe like 5, we could not count; they were directly shooting at our car. Everything was happening within seconds, so fast from the first bullet coming to us waking up, the second bullet coming to us taking cover, to the third one that hit the driver in the eye.”

The rapper's vivid account sheds light on the intensity of the life-threatening situation they faced, emphasizing the sudden and traumatic nature of the attack. To provide further context, Falz also shared a YouTube video clip from the interview, allowing viewers to hear the chilling narrative in his own words.
