Nigerian hip-hop artist Falz recently explained why he sings controversial songs and addresses sensitive topics. He recently released a song calling out INEC, its chairman, and other political parties over alleged electoral malpractices in the recent general elections. Falz is not afraid to speak his truth and uses provocative lyrics in his music because he is willing to die for justice. In an interview with Arise TV, Falz stated that he would rather die fighting for justice than remain silent and succumb to the failed system in Nigeria. Falz has a history of releasing confrontational songs, and he is always on the ground when he releases them. He is not running away from the consequences of his actions and has no reason to fear anything. According to him, the kind of life Nigerians are living is meaningless, and the worst that could happen to him is death. He does not fear death and would rather be remembered for living a meaningful life than someone who got run over by a reckless bus driver or died from a preventable disease due to the inadequacy of healthcare facilities in Nigeria. Falz's commitment to speaking out against injustice and using his platform to effect change is admirable and inspiring.
