The enormous custom-made red pot, which boasts a remarkable capacity of 22,619 litres, was carefully fabricated in Gbagada, Lagos, and transported overnight to Eko Hotel, the prestigious venue where the historic cook-off will take place. Viral videos circulating online captured the moment the branded pot, sponsored by Gino, was offloaded under tight monitoring, drawing excitement from fans and food enthusiasts across the country.

Taking to Instagram to confirm its safe arrival, Hilda shared her excitement, writing: “At 4am this morning, our giant pot was safely transported from Gbagada where it was fabricated to Eko Hotel, the official venue of the event. I still can’t believe this is actually happening in less than 24 hours—it feels like a dream come true.”

According to Hilda, the record-breaking jollof rice project will require staggering amounts of ingredients, including 250 bags of rice, equivalent to approximately 5,278 kilogrammes of raw basmati rice. She further revealed that her goal is to fill the pot up to 75–80 percent of its full capacity, ensuring that the outcome is both historic and delicious.

In addition to rice, the recipe will feature 1,583 kilogrammes of tomato-based products, with contributions from tomato paste, pepper chicken paste, and jollof paste. Hilda emphasized that the combination is designed to deliver what she proudly described as the “largest and most delicious pot of Nigerian jollof rice ever cooked.”

Hilda Baci rose to international fame in 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, an achievement that cemented her status as a culinary icon. With this ambitious new challenge, she hopes to not only set another global record but also celebrate Nigeria’s rich food culture and showcase it to the world.

The announcement has sparked widespread anticipation, particularly in Lagos, where residents and fans online have expressed their eagerness to witness and taste history in the making. Many have jokingly declared that they are “ready to chop” once the cooking officially begins.

The event, tagged #GinoWorldJollofFestWithHildaBaci, is expected to host thousands of food lovers, influencers, and dignitaries. It will also shine a spotlight on Nigeria’s culinary heritage, further promoting African cuisine on a global stage while uniting communities in a shared love for jollof rice.
