A man identified as Mr. Favour Ibex has come forward, accusing his partner, a gospel singer, of abandoning him after he dedicated nine years to supporting her education and career.
Mr. Ibex, who claims to be both the fiancé and manager of gospel singer Amaka Gift, shared his grievances on Facebook. He detailed their journey, revealing they met through her local church choir and were in a relationship for three years before he introduced her to the music industry in 2017.
Mr. Ibex asserted that he and Amaka kept their relationship private to shield her gospel career and education. He expressed his commitment by waiting to perform traditional rites after her graduation. Favour claims to have created and nurtured her social media accounts, arranged videos, and posts, while investing heavily in promoting her with activities like newspaper ads, radio spots, CD printing, outfit branding, and concerts.
Trouble arose when Favour introduced Amaka to Maxy Michael for a musical collaboration. According to Favour, he observed videos and images of Amaka and Maxy in compromising situations. Confronting Amaka, he found out about her involvement with Maxy. In an effort to distance him, she reportedly attempted to change her social media passwords, leading Favour to deactivate the pages.
Favour claimed to have provided for Amaka's comfort, outfitting her apartment and establishing a studio to support her music and academic pursuits. He accused Amaka of betraying their relationship and the investment he made over nine years.
Favour's post went on to describe the situation, including his communication with Amaka and her family about Maxy, and how her actions contradicted their mutual commitment. He highlighted the blessings they received from their late fathers and the effort he invested in her career. He concluded by stating his intention to share his side of the story and the reasons behind taking down Amaka's social media pages.
He summarized by saying, "My only offence was that I was respecting God, so I never took carnal knowledge of her. I was waiting for her to graduate from school before I perform her traditional rites."
