Nollywood actress Ekene Umenwa is beaming with joy as she celebrates her traditional wedding with her long-time partner and filmmaker, Alex Kleanson. She recently revealed her engagement to Alex and has now shared clips from their traditional wedding celebration in Anambra State.
In a video, friends and family encircled Ekene and Kleanson, who were dressed in their finest traditional attire for their special day.
She was overjoyed as she and her partner dove into the nuances of Igbo customs hand in hand. They hit the dance floor with their guests and loved ones.
Captioning the video, Ekene mentioned that on April 16, 2023, her bride price was paid, securing their traditional marriage.
She decided against going all the way with the traditional wedding due to insecurity in the East.
She wrote:
“APRIL 16th 2023 my bride price was paid by my baby @kleanson and we became married traditionally but because of the insecurity in the East I decided not to do the kind of trad I like because me l am a village girl oh I love tradition too much
“All thanks to my mother small bride price payment she done turn am to carnival All thanks to my beautiful and blessed blood sisters, aunties and uncles and my darling friends and blessed colleagues that came to celebrate with us una own no go spoil in Jesus name amen”
