[p]Drake has reportedly won an enormous sum of $2.7 million after Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira at UFC 287 and reclaimed his middleweight title. Adesanya, a Nigerian mixed martial artist, regained the 185lb title only five months after losing it to Pereira, who had previously defeated Adesanya twice in kickboxing.
According to reports, Drake had lost $1.6 million after betting on Adesanya to win in the previous fight against Pereira, but he made up for it in the rematch. The American rapper had placed a $500,000 bet on Adesanya to win, which returned $885,000. Additionally, he had placed a $400,000 bet on Adesanya to win by knockout, which returned a staggering $1.8 million.
When asked about Drake's bet after his victory, Adesanya said, "Shoutout to everyone that bet on me, but you have to realize that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line. That's the biggest parlay you can ever do. I'm a betting man too, so shoutout to stake. We are about to make another deal and get more money."
