Reality TV personality, Doyin David, has taken to social media to elucidate why she no longer attends church.
Sharing her thoughts on her Instagram story in response to an Instablog post about a US pastor who allegedly stole $1.3 million from church members, claiming divine instruction, Doyin expressed her disillusionment with such incidents as a significant factor for her decision.
Doyin pointed out that occurrences like these contribute to her reluctance to attend church. Responding to the pastor's claim that God instructed the theft, she remarked that certain members of his congregation would still support him regardless of his actions.
Expressing concern about declining standards, she asserted that attending church nowadays almost requires being "plain stupid." Despite her reservations, she acknowledged the genuine forgiveness of God in her concluding statement.
In her own words: "People ask me why I no longer go to church… ridiculous things like this are the reason. Just imagine this one saying God asked him to steal, and you'll find people in his church who will defend this madness. The standard keeps getting lower and lower by the day; it's almost as if you have to be just plain stupid to be able to sit through certain sermons these days. God is really patient."
