Renowned Nollywood actress, Deborah Ajijolajesu Shokoya, widely known as Debbie Shokoya, has opened up about a difficult period in her life, recounting the heart-wrenching experience of losing her pregnancy at 8 months.
Using her Instagram platform, the beloved actress shared a profoundly emotional video where she tearfully narrates the tragic loss of her pregnancy.
Debbie Shokoya revealed that her pregnancy was known to her loved ones, even to the extent of expectations surrounding her return with her newborn baby. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances arose, leading to a heartbreaking miscarriage.
While requesting empathy, she urged people not to judge her harshly. She openly discussed the sacrifices she made and the challenges she faced for the sake of her unborn child, only to experience the painful loss.
Through her tears, she courageously expressed the profound difficulty she's been grappling with due to the emotional bond she developed with her unborn child, magnifying the depth of her loss.
In her own words, "I will like to tell my story myself, that’s why I am making the video right now. Almost everyone knows that Debbie Shokoya is pregnant and expecting and with all glory to God, I lost my child at 8 months. That’s to tell you that I choose to speak on what I want to speak about. If I don’t want to speak about it, I wouldn’t talk about it. Be careful what you will say cause words are sensitive. I am a mother, I carried my child for 8 months. I sacrificed a lot for my child, I know what I went through. How I traveled with the joy of coming back with my child, but God understands right? It’s not easy, I carried my child for 8 months, bonded with my child but lost my child."
