ChaCha Eke Faani, a well-known Nollywood actress, recently opened up about her strained relationship with her mother during her formative years.
In a heartfelt message shared on her mother's birthday, ChaCha Eke reflected on her deep resentment and disconnection from her mother. She revealed that as she grew older, her feelings of dislike and even hatred towards her mother intensified. She experienced troubling nightmares and hallucinations that only reinforced her negative emotions.
Adding to her distress, certain religious leaders informed ChaCha that her mother posed a threat to her life. This further fueled her animosity, to the point where she harbored wishes for her mother's demise.
In her own words, ChaCha wrote:
"This is a video of me and my biological Mom. I loved her intensely when I was younger. She was, and still is my best friend. However, as I got older, I began to dislike and develop a deep hatred for her. I had nightmares and hallucinations that supported my euphoria."
"Sadly, many men of God told me after several manic episodes that she was after my life. And so I went about wishing her death and spewing despicable things about her."
Upon reflecting on her mental health challenges and personal journey, ChaCha now realizes that her negative thoughts and beliefs towards her mother were a result of a disorder—a chemical reaction in the brain that caused her to shift from loving her mother to despising her.
