International superstar singer and Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has unveiled that his seventh studio album, titled 'I Told Them,' draws its inspiration from his past tweets on Twitter. Burna Boy shared that he took a stroll down memory lane on his Twitter profile and stumbled upon his previous tweets that foreshadowed his current accomplishments. This discovery led him to name the album 'I Told Them.' In a recent interview with American media outlet Complex, Burna Boy stated that the term "Them" in the album title refers to anyone who doubted him at any point in time.
Reflecting on how the album title emerged, Burna Boy explained, "The way the name of this album came up is because one random day, I just went on my Twitter [page], and I started scrolling down to my old tweets. I wanted to see what the first tweet I ever tweeted was, for some strange reason. And then it just sent me down this rabbit hole, where I’m just looking at everything I ever said. I’m like, wow! It’s crazy. I really did say all these sh*ts that are happening now. And that kind of made me name my album, ‘I Told Them’."
The highly anticipated album is scheduled for release on Friday, August 25, 2023. Burna Boy also revealed that the project will have a sequel that will be unveiled later.
In a related development, Burna Boy reacted to a Google report that pegged his net worth at 22 million dollars. During an interview, the anchor informed Burna Boy about this figure, which led him to burst out laughing before elaborating that he appreciates the estimation, but it significantly underestimates his actual worth.
