Popular singer, Burna Boy has issued an apology to Nigerian blogs while simultaneously launching a scathing attack on Western blogs for their recent coverage of him.
The Afrobeats artist has been embroiled in a feud with bloggers over their persistent interference in his personal affairs. In the past, he attempted to persuade certain bloggers to cease mentioning him in their publications.
The 'Twice as Tall' hitmaker has criticized Western media outlets for circulating a photo of him with a shaven face, misleadingly implying it was a recent image. He clarified that the picture was taken in 2021, the last time he shaved off all his facial hair.
Expressing his frustration, Burna Boy highlighted the superficiality of the news cycle, lamenting that amidst his groundbreaking achievements and record-breaking endeavors, the media fixates on trivial matters such as his grooming habits. He conveyed his regrets to Nigerian blogs, admitting he underestimated their influence and suggesting they may have adopted similar practices from Western counterparts.
In a social media post, he wrote:
“To all you wei** who depend on theshaderoom @theshadeborough And other weird blogs for your daily news. I shaved my beard in 2021 NOT now. But it’s good to know that for all the history Ive been making and records I’ve been setting and breaking, You PARASITES ONLY CARE ABOUT WHO I MIGHT HAVE F.kD, who I’m fkng and stupid like “Burna boy shaved his beard”. I gotta apologise to Nigerian blogs now cuz I thought their stup*ity was unique, I didn’t know they learned all they know from the West.”
