Renowned comedian Basketmouth has set tongues wagging as he advocates for polygamy by citing Biblical examples.
On his Instagram story, the comedian compared some Biblical characters who had one wife to those who married more than one wife. He used these comparisons to argue his case, presenting a controversial viewpoint that has sparked widespread debate among his followers and the general public.

According to Basketmouth, those that married one wife in the Bible lost their way at the end of the day and betrayed God. He mentioned figures like Ahab, Herod, Ananias, Pontius Pilate, Jeroboam, Nebuchadnezzar, Haaman, and Zakayo as examples of men with one wife who, in his view, did not find favor with God.
On the other hand, the Bible characters that married more than one wife all found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Basketmouth highlighted notable figures such as Abraham, Jacob, David, Solomon, Rehoboam, Abijah, Elkanah, and Lamech, who had multiple wives and, according to him, were blessed by God.
He then encouraged everyone to do with the information he provided what they please, leaving the interpretation up to his audience. His words were: “According to the Holy Bible, Ahab – 1 wife, Herod – 1 wife, Ananias – 1 wife, Pontius Pilate – 1 wife, Jeroboam – 1 wife, Nebuchadnezzar – 1 wife, Haaman – 1 wife, Zakayo – 1 wife. And they all lost their way and betrayed God.”
“Abraham – 3 wives, Jacob – 4 wives, David – 4 wives, Solomon – 700 wives and 300 concubines, Rehoboam – 18 wives, Abijah – 14 wives, Elkanah – 2 wives, Lamech – 2 wives, and they all found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Whatever you do with this information is none of my business… However you want to interpret it is your cup of tea but I will be in the comment session.”
Many online users roared in the comment section over Basketmouth’s post, sharing a wide range of reactions and opinions on the controversial topic he brought to light.
