Renowned Nigerian artist, rapper, actor, entrepreneur, and politician, Olubankole Wellington, widely known as Banky W, shared an old video disclosing the story of how he encountered the now-famous singer, Wizkid.
Contrary to popular belief that their connection initiated through a tweet on social media, Banky W clarified that he discovered Wizkid actively working and not through online interactions.
Banky W asserted that their collaboration had been ongoing for about a year before Wizkid's tweet garnered attention on social media, creating the impression that their partnership began with an online exchange.
Explaining the sequence of events, Banky W mentioned that, while scouting for music by unsigned artists, he came across Wizkid's song. He revealed Wizkid's prior role as a hype man for singer Kel before their official meeting.
