According to an anonymous resident, Nwosu sought refuge with the policewoman after her marital separation. The policewoman generously offered her accommodation in her own apartment. However, a quarrel erupted between them, escalating into a physical fight. Nwosu struck the policewoman on the head with a pestle, causing her to fall unconscious.

Taking advantage of the situation, Nwosu proceeded to tie the policewoman and her two children together with a rope inside their room. Shockingly, she set them and the building ablaze. The fire attracted the attention of local vigilantes and villagers, who managed to apprehend Nwosu as she attempted to flee the scene.

Initially, when interrogated by the vigilantes, Nwosu denied her involvement, claiming that a gas explosion occurred while the deceased and her children were boiling water. However, she later confessed to the crime, stating that she was driven by some unknown force, attributing it to the handiwork of the devil.

The Anambra State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and the subsequent arrest of the suspect. The bodies of the policewoman and her children were taken to the mortuary. The case has been transferred to the State Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and prosecution.

DSP Ikenga provided preliminary information, revealing that the policewoman had offered accommodation to Nwosu while she was searching for a house. The altercation between the two women escalated, leading to the fatal attack by Nwosu. The investigation is ongoing, and any significant developments will be communicated in due course.
