Some criticized the parents for providing such expensive phones to young children, while others downplayed the issue and pointed out that such phones are used by even younger children in other parts of the world. One commenter suggested that the students using expensive phones in a government school may be involved in fraudulent activities. Another lamented the epidemic of fraud and lack of belief in education among Nigerian youths.
