A school teacher [/b]named Pope Itodo shared a detailed account of his recent encounter with a lady, whom he ultimately decided to end things with after just three days of texting. He took to his Facebook page to express his frustration about the communication experience he had during this early stage of getting to know someone romantically.
Pope Itodo on FacebookAccording to Itodo, the lady he was chatting with displayed a complete absence of proper punctuation in her messages for the entire three-day period. This lack of punctuation marks significantly affected the clarity of her messages, leading to confusion and even giving him headaches in his attempts to comprehend the intended meaning of her sentences.
“I know I just met this babe, but I can’t continue like this. Three days of chatting, and she has not used a single comma, full stop, or even question mark! She would just say, ‘Have you eaten.’ What am I supposed to make of that? Is it a question or a statement? Am I asking for too much? I'm not even suggesting she uses fancy punctuation marks like a semi colon, hyphen, or exclamation mark! Additionally, aside from Lagos, all states in Nigeria are proper nouns! So, what does she mean by 'abuja'?" he wrote in his exasperated Facebook post.
Reactions to the teacher's decision to end the relationship over punctuation
Oluwa Rhoda wrote: “You’re not asking for too much.”
Aninath Okpongete reacted: “Correct her politely, use a gentle helpful tone, let her know it’s a big deal for you... That’s if you really care about the relationship, sir.”
Mercy Ezeam said: “I think you deserve what you are getting, and please stop disturbing us; you are not the only one looking for commas, full stops, exclamation marks, and apostrophes. You can leave Lagos and find the comma where you dropped it.”
Vee Vian commented: “This drives me so crazyyyyy… I legit just leave the conversation for you, before I pull my hair out. I do not ask for much… Just put a bladddyyy question mark when you ask a question.”
