Local residents of the affected regions had apparently been monitoring the activities of these criminals for several months. Last week, their endeavors bore fruit as the suspects were finally apprehended. **Police authorities**, acting on information supplied by vigilant residents, promptly launched an operation. This led to the interception of the suspects' Honda Civic vehicle (with license plate MNA 342 AA) near Shiroro Hotel.
The operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects: Shehu Buhari, aged 25, Musa Idris, aged 40, both residents of Barkin-Sale, Minna, and Idrisu Aliyu, also known as Dagrin, aged 22, from Kaffintela, Minna. These individuals were taken into custody and subsequently confessed to their crimes during interrogation.
According to the police, the suspects admitted to a pattern of stealing goats across Minna for half a decade. Their modus operandi involved selling the stolen goats, whose prices ranged from N10,000 to N15,000 based on size, to local butchers in the Maitumbi and Tunga areas. The suspects revealed that they used Idris Dagrin's Honda Civic to transport the pilfered animals.
In addition to the arrested suspects, two individuals allegedly involved in receiving the stolen goats were identified: Murtala Dan-Azumi from Tunga, who was successfully apprehended, and Hussaini Yahaya, who currently remains at large.
The state police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, affirmed that the investigation was ongoing and efforts were underway to apprehend Hussaini Yahaya. Once the investigation concludes, all suspects will be brought before the court for legal proceedings.
