The Lagos State Police have confirmed that a violent altercation took place between Mohbad and his childhood friend, Primeboy, at the singer's show in Ikorodu, resulting in an injury that ultimately led to Mohbad's death.
This revelation came during a press statement on October 6, 2023, where the police also provided the names of suspects connected to Mohbad's death.
According to Lagos Police Commissioner Idowu Owohunwa, Primeboy, one of the suspects, was involved in a physical altercation with Mohbad, leading to the singer's injury.
“Primeboy attended the show at Ikorodu in Mohbad’s company on 10th September 2023. At the end of the show, they engaged in a violent fight during which Mohbad was injured. The nature of the injury subsequently resulted in his death,” stated the CP.
Among the other suspects mentioned, Sam Larry faced accusations of bullying and assault, and both Naira Marley and Sam Larry, who were associated with Mohbad, are currently in custody.
