The Lagos State Police Command has provided an explanation for their recent operation at the residence of Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti. According to reports, police officers conducted a search at Seun Kuti's house on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos. During the search, an eyewitness claimed that the officers seized Seun Kuti's wife's phone and took him into custody while handcuffed. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, clarified that the raid was carried out based on a search warrant obtained by the command. He further stated that it was part of an ongoing investigation into an assault case, and certain items needed to be verified. Hundeyin emphasized that the search warrant was duly executed in accordance with the law.
