In a recent interview, veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie discussed the surprising end of his colleague Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha's long-standing marriage. Chioma, known for her privacy, had been married for over fifteen years before news of the separation emerged. She had dropped hints about the marriage's difficulties through her social media posts, emphasizing her maiden name, 'Chioma Chukwuka.' Pete Edochie expressed concern over the rising divorce rates in the Nollywood industry, emphasizing the importance of understanding that marriage is for better or worse. He shared his shock at Chioma's broken marriage and highlighted that many young actresses have also parted ways with their husbands after just a few years of marriage. He emphasized the significance of staying committed through challenges rather than seeking an easier path.

“If you come to our Industry today, most of our ladies who got married 2- 3 years ago have all left their husbands, I was shocked that Chioma Chukwa had left her husband, Ireti Doyle, Tonto Dikeh. You take a vow when you are going to get married for better or worst, not for better or out. You will always think it’s greener on the other side, that is the mistake we all make”.
