Nigerian passport climbs global ranking, grants visa-free access to 43 countries

The Nigerian passport has made significant progress in the world ranking, moving up ten spots to reach the 90th position globally, as reported by the Henley Passport Index. While this improvement is noteworthy, the Nigerian passport is still considered one of the least powerful.

According to the latest reports from the Henley Passport Index, Nigerian passport holders now have visa-free access to 43 countries. Some of these countries include Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Cabo Verde, Chad, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Timor-Leste, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Fiji, Haiti, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Micronesia, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

With this improved ranking, Nigerian passport holders can enjoy enhanced travel opportunities, but there is still room for further advancement to increase global travel access.
