His marathon, initiated on January 10th, sought to surpass the existing record set in 2015 by the UK’s Gareth Sandars, who had ironed continuously for 100 hours.

Despite the initial determination, El-Okene's marathon abruptly concluded at the 142nd hour, following medical advice indicating concerns for his health.

Ibrahim Ochu Abdulrasheed, sharing the update, revealed that a medical test prompted the decision to halt the ironing marathon, emphasizing El-Okene's health as the priority.

Surprisingly, El-Okene wasn't relying on public power supply (PHCN) but had been fueling a generator at a cost of N34,000 daily to sustain the marathon.

In a statement on his X account, El-Okene expressed gratitude for the support during his journey, citing medical reasons for his decision to stop after surpassing 142 hours.
