The Police Command in Cross River has taken a 54-year-old man into custody for allegedly beating his girlfriend to death in Calabar South Local Government Area of the state. The suspect reportedly attacked the victim, identified as Ndereke, after a minor disagreement at Abasi Obori Street on Tuesday. Uwanse Divisional Police Headquarters personnel responded to a distress call and arrested the man. The victim was rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) but sadly didn't survive, and her body was taken to the morgue for autopsy. The police spokesperson assured that the suspect would face justice for his actions.
