Yul Edochie, a controversial actor in the Nigerian film industry, has recently made an appeal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Nnamdi Kanu has been in custody for the past two years following his arrest and extradition from Kenya. Despite court orders for his release, the Nigerian government has chosen to keep him detained. Taking to his Twitter account, Yul Edochie respectfully urged President Tinubu, whom he referred to as a man with a three-decade-long history of fighting for democracy and supporting individuals, to intervene and ensure Nnamdi Kanu's freedom from the custody of the Department of State Security (DSS). Yul Edochie's tweet reads: "To our Leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, @officialABAT GCFR. The Jagaban. A man who has fought for democracy for 3 decades, A builder & supporter of men & women. My President, please release Nnamdi Kanu. A humble request from your son, Yul Edochie."
In response to Yul Edochie's plea, netizens expressed their disapproval, with one individual named Emmanuel commenting: "Iwu a disgrace to ndi Igbo, Nna gi wukwanu Agu, and ikwesiri ime ka Agu, but ibiara ekwu okwu ka onye Na eweru Uche." Another user, @seyfunmi, went further and stated: "You are mad werey agbe iyawo lori pantete."
