Every person has a constitutional right to freedom of expression which also includes all maners of lifestyles. However, these lifestyles must be lived withing the limits allowed by any extant laws. Such laws may include codes of conducts of professional organisation or bodies such as the armed forces, medical or banking professions. The legal profession also has its which every aspiring member is aware of long before becoming a member. With respect to the legal profession, nudity, certain flamboyant lifestyles such as participating in pagentries or reality shows such as big brother Africa/ Niger are considered mortal sins. Those found culpable suffer the risk of being suspended or outrightly debarred from the legal profession and heve theirnames struck out from the register of the bar . In the case of Ifunanya " the baddest lawyer", she is still very young and has her whole life ahead of her. She may not recover from the adverse psychology of facing the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) a body which very old and accomplished legal practitioners dread because of the stigma associated with being disciplined by that body. In my humble opinion, Ifunanya should be counseled properly by a carrier expert before deciding who or what really she would want to be or do. There are many young men or women out there who are dissatisfied with their lives because they are in a profession to which they are not properly vocated probably because they were forced or for other wrong reasons. If Ifunanya still wants to be a lawyer, she could be pupilled with a much senior lawyer for guidance. Gone were the days when young men or women were inspired by iconic characters such Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Lord Denning, Late Chief Richard Akintola, etc. The value system prevalent in those days are long gone. Youths now have the likes of Davido, Wizkid ( no insult intended) or corrupt politicians to look up to.In this erra of faulty parenting, we must be humane while applying disciplinary measures.
