In a recent incident that occurred in Nigeria, unknown gunmen have kidnapped Daniel Ogoshi, the driver of the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe. The incident took place on Tuesday at around 9:30 pm at Ombi 2, College of Agriculture, Kwandere Road, Lafia, the state capital. According to reports by Punch, the driver was abducted from the residence of his friend. The gunmen left behind his phone and car at the scene.

It is noteworthy that a former deputy governor of the state, Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, was also kidnapped in the state recently. He was released after a ransom of about N4m was paid. The abduction of Daniel Ogoshi is the latest in a series of kidnapping incidents that have occurred in the country in recent years. Kidnapping for ransom has become a major security challenge in Nigeria, with many citizens falling victim to this crime.

A family friend of the victim confirmed the incident and stated that he received a call around 9 pm on the day of the incident, informing him that his brother had been taken away by the kidnappers. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, also confirmed the incident and assured the public that the police were on top of the matter, working hard to secure the release of the victim.

The increasing incidents of kidnappings in Nigeria have become a major concern for the government and citizens. There have been calls for urgent measures to be taken to address the issue and ensure the safety of citizens. The security agencies have also been urged to step up efforts to combat kidnapping in the country and bring the perpetrators to justice.
