A distressed young man finds himself on the brink of divorce as he grapples with a tumultuous domestic situation, involving his wife accusing his mother of being a witch.
The man poured out his struggles in an anonymous message shared through a relationship adviser, seeking guidance in the midst of the chaos within his home.
According to his narrative, his wife initially agreed to the condition of living with his mother when they got married. Despite accommodating his mother in a separate apartment within the compound, tensions escalated as his wife labeled her mother-in-law as a witch.
“When I met my wife, I informed her that my mum would be living with us since I am her only son. I lost my dad at the age of 12, and my mum ensured I went to university to become a graduate. I asked her if she would be friends with my mum, and she agreed. We got married.
The trouble started after she gave birth to our son. She began giving my mum attitude. I quickly built a second house and completed a 4-flat building in the same compound. I rented out three flats and furnished one for my mum, relocating her to leave the duplex for my wife.
Despite being a full-time housewife, I bought her a car and pleaded with her to greet my mum, but she refused. I even arranged for my auntie and mother-in-law to reconcile my wife and mum. My mum insisted my wife didn’t offend her, and she couldn’t fathom why the animosity existed. I encouraged my wife to express herself, but she remained silent.
Later, in the privacy of our room, she demanded I rent a separate house for my mum, insisting she is a witch and expressing fears about her giving birth to more children. I stood my ground, affirming my mother's innocence,” he disclosed.
