Ifeanyi Obi, a Nigerian man who graduated with a 2.2, has become an incredible source of inspiration on social media due to his remarkable academic journey, which led to him being recognized as the best student in a prestigious European university.
Despite facing the challenge of graduating with a 2.2 in his undergraduate studies, Obi defied the odds and achieved academic excellence in a renowned European university.
Obi shared his extraordinary journey on his LinkedIn page, revealing the initial obstacle posed by his academic performance, reflected by his 2.2 undergraduate degree, in his pursuit of further education.
Despite facing rejection from renowned universities in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, due to his previous academic performance, Obi remained undeterred and shifted his focus towards a European university.
Undeterred by the challenges, Obi successfully secured admission to pursue his studies in Europe, fueling his determination to prove himself.
With unwavering commitment and determination, Obi embarked on his academic journey, surpassing his previous performance and emerging as the top student in the European university, much to the astonishment of many.
Four years later, Obi's exceptional dedication and outstanding performance led him to the position of an associate professor.
Additionally, his software, BuildTech, received approval from a prestigious UK body, opening up new opportunities for success.
As a result of this accomplishment, Obi obtained a special visa to establish a software lab in London, further enhancing his achievements.
Reflecting on his journey, Obi shared his experience, stating, "I graduated with honors (2:2) for my undergraduate studies, which wasn't an excellent feat. This was due to personal issues and struggles against words spoken to me by a Prophet that I won't do well academically if I chose that path. I applied to 3 Universities in the UK for my Masters studies and got rejected. With that, I applied to other Universities in the USA, Canada, and got rejected as well. With over 16 rejections, I proceeded with great determination to Cyprus to study. I told myself I could turn my story around. With increased focus and developed study patterns, I graduated with High Honors (3.8) for my Masters Studies and was offered a place for a Ph.D. and with the same determination and a few mistakes as well, I graduated as the best student that year and was the Valedictorian. Last year, my software in BuildTech got approved by the UK endorsement body and this year I obtained an Innovator Migrant Visa to establish a software lab in London."
