The lady left for another man's house but had informed her parents that she would be spending the night at the man's place. When she didn't return, and her parents grew concerned, suspicions fell on the man, as the lady had misled her family about her whereabouts.

The man found himself summoned to the police station, suspected of kidnapping, as the lady's disappearance prompted an investigation. The lady eventually returned, and to the man's surprise, neither her family nor the girl apologized; instead, it was the police who extended apologies.

In the man's own words:

“So, the girl disappeared for a weekend and pinned it on me. Her parents couldn’t reach her the first night. They went to her place only to find her roommate, so this girl lied to her roommate that she was coming to me. Parents alerted the police because her phone was off.

Police called me and started questioning me, then demanded my address. Mind you, I was home on that weekend, so they just assumed I went into hiding. They went to my place. The landlord called me to notify me that the police are looking for me, saying I kidnapped someone. Kidnap? Really?

I decided not to tell anyone at home until there was a lot of smoke because, in my mind, I’m like what if I tell my parents then she comes back later? Now my parents will know I hang out with girls while I’m supposed to be studying. Now the Police and parents start getting serious. Endless calls and demanding me to come back, otherwise, they’ll have to arrest me.

Everyone is posting on WhatsApp about her disappearance and me being the prime suspect. I start panicking because there was a lot of traction about it then I head back to my place to talk to the Police. Her parents were mad at me, saying there is no way their child would lie about her coming to my place; I must bring back their daughter.

Everyone was doubting my story because I wasn’t disputing the fact that I was with her during the week. The girl came back on the Sunday. I received a call from the police, saying she is back – she was at another man’s place, and they would like to apologize, then I deleted her numbers.”
