According to reports, a man identified as Aminu Abubakar, aged 56, has been arrested by the Adamawa police command for allegedly beating his wife to death. It was reported that Aminu assaulted his wife, Nana Fadimatu, after being told that she had plans to leave him and marry another man in a neighbouring community.
The incident happened at about 10pm on Friday, May 5, and Nana was reportedly attacked with a hard object by her husband which knocked her out. She was later pronounced dead.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident and stated that the suspect was arrested by police officers from Shagari Divisional Headquarters after Nana's intended new husband, Mahmud Rufai of Shagari Annex, Yola South, filed a complaint.
