The family of a young lady has lodged an accusation against the Lagos branch of KFC, claiming that they are holding onto the body of their deceased daughter following her sudden death while working at the fast food restaurant. According to one of the family members, KFC informed them that their daughter had fainted and died while attempting to dry her wet clothes. However, the family asserts that KFC has refused to disclose the location of their daughter's corpse.
The family source revealed that their daughter had only been employed at KFC for a brief period of two months. On Friday of last week, she reportedly collapsed at approximately 11 PM. KFC alleged that she had screamed and fallen while trying to hang her washed clothes. They stated that they promptly rushed her to a hospital, but the first facility rejected her due to the lack of a deposit. It was only upon reaching the second hospital that her arrival was pronounced as deceased.
Instead of informing the family, KFC unilaterally transported her body to the morgue. Currently, the family remains unaware of the specific location where her body has been placed, with neither KFC nor the police providing any information. This has led the family to suspect a potential cover-up, as they find it implausible that their daughter simply fell without any underlying cause.
Moreover, the family questions why KFC failed to contact them, especially considering that they live nearby. They find it concerning that KFC neglected to notify them even after rushing their daughter to the hospital. The family also criticizes KFC for not informing them prior to taking her body to the mortuary. Furthermore, KFC allegedly went to the Festac police station to file a report without informing the family.
The police eventually reached out to the family on Saturday afternoon, instructing the mother to visit the station regarding her daughter's work-related issues. However, upon arrival, the police reluctantly revealed to the mother that her daughter had passed away. The family emphasizes that their daughter was not suffering from any illness and was in good health. They suspect electrocution as the cause of death, basing their assumption on a statement made by a policeman to the deceased's elder brother, referring to an electric shock incident in Festac.
Tragically, the young lady who passed away was the sole daughter in her family. She had taken up employment at KFC after discontinuing her studies at nursing school.
