This development was communicated in a letter from the Chief Coroner of the state, Justice Mojisola Dada.

Dated September 26, the letter was addressed to Falana and Falana Chambers. It comes in response to a request made by the chambers' owner and human rights advocate, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN).

Magistrate T. A. Shotobi, who will preside over the inquest, signed the letter, which stated, "I have the directive of the Chief Coroner, Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada, to notify your good office of the lordship’s order to convoke an inquest into the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (a.k.a. Mohbad).

The inquest is scheduled to take place at 12:00 p.m. in Court Three, Candide-Johnson Courthouse, Ita-Elewa, in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The letter concluded with a request for the assistance of Falana and Falana Chambers in ensuring their participation in the inquest.

Femi Falana (SAN) had initially requested the coroner's inquest on September 18, following the controversial death of the musician on September 12, followed by his burial the next day.

Falana's request for the inquest was officially submitted in a letter to the chief coroner of the High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja.
