The Lagos state commissioner of police, Idowu Owohunwa, has given assurance that Nigerians will receive investigation results concerning the death of Mohbad within two weeks. This announcement came during a visit to his office by actress Iyabo Ojo and other Nollywood stars, who were advocating for justice for the late singer Mohbad and the mentally unstable DJ Splash, both associated with Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley.

A peaceful rally originally planned for today was canceled, following the plea for dialogue from the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, to prevent potential attacks by hoodlums.

During the meeting, the actors passionately requested a dignified burial for Mohbad and sought assurances of protection for his wife and child. Iyabo Ojo also raised concerns about the prevalence of cyberbullying on social media platforms, especially among young individuals. She emphasized the need for swift responses to online harassment and threats, pointing out that international standards hold individuals accountable for such actions.

Iyabo Ojo stated, "We need you to help us look into the law that cautions children not to threaten people's lives on social media. Social media is not a child's play. In the foreign world, you can't just threaten people's lives without facing repercussions. Many times Mohbad cried out about the bullying on social media, and nothing was done. There should be a rapid response to online harassment."

In response, Commissioner of Police Owohunwa expressed gratitude for their commitment to seeking justice in society. He pledged unwavering dedication to ensuring justice for all citizens, regardless of their social status. He revealed ongoing efforts to establish a state-of-the-art complaint response unit in Lagos to streamline and digitize the reporting process, making it accessible from one's home.

Regarding Mohbad's case, the Commissioner outlined ongoing collaboration with the state government to initiate a coroner inquest, adhering to legal procedures. He explained the protocol for dealing with suspects once evidence is cleared and assured that results about Mohbad's death would be provided within two weeks. He emphasized the importance of following due process and the capacity of his officers to ensure justice.
