A resilient Nigerian lady, identified as Olami, has touched the hearts of thousands online after opening up about her life-changing decision to return home after spending years abroad. Her story, shared on TikTok, has become a source of motivation for many people both in Nigeria and overseas who feel stuck in their current situations.
According to Olami, she spent three long years abroad, but despite the time and effort, she realized it wasn’t yielding the life she had envisioned. With courage and determination, she decided to return to Nigeria, starting over from scratch with little to her name. She revealed in one of her video updates that though the journey has been tough, her faith in God and determination to succeed has kept her moving forward.
“I came back to Nigeria with nothing after wasting three years of my life abroad, and I had to start all over. This is just the 4th week of me starting all over, God has been so faithful to me. I know I’m not there yet, but at least I’m not where I was yesterday,” she expressed.
Her journey of starting afresh
In her heartfelt introduction, Olami made it clear that she wanted her journey to serve as a testimony of hope. “Hi guys, my name is Olami, welcome to my journey of starting all over. Yes, my journey of starting from scratch with nothing,” she said while addressing her followers.
Determined to make a living and not give in to despair, she quickly ventured into entrepreneurship. She learned how to produce liquid soap and turned it into her new business. In one of her updates, she proudly shared her very first major breakthrough, which was a bulk order.
“I started making liquid soap when I got back and this is the result. This is my first massive sale. Someone ordered 500 pieces from Ekiti State and this is what you can see,” she excitedly announced in a video, showing off her hard work paying off.
A message of hope to others
Beyond documenting her business growth, Olami used her platform to inspire others, especially Nigerians abroad who often message her privately about their struggles. She encouraged them not to give up and to keep believing in God’s faithfulness.
“I’m actually posting this for you who want to give up, please, please don’t give up my dear. Keep on praying to God and keep on believing in God. And to some people in my DM telling me they’re stuck abroad and are tired of life over there, hang in there. I really wish I could help, but for now, you can see I’m still trying to stand on my feet. I pray the Lord sees you through,” she said with deep compassion.
