Controversial self-proclaimed international journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has made some bold claims regarding the financial matters of the late singer Mohbad and his association with Naira Marley, the CEO of Marlin Music.
CEO of Marlin Music, Naira Marley
Olunloyo took to her social media platform, previously known as Twitter, to share her findings. She stated that Mohbad, as of her research, was worth approximately ₦700 million, equivalent to around $690,000.
She alleged that Naira Marley owed Mohbad a substantial sum, estimated at ₦300 million, in song royalties. According to her, Mohbad was a prolific songwriter and contributed significantly to Marlian Music's catalog.

Olunloyo also suggested that the music industry in Nigeria required artist developers to help navigate issues like these, emphasizing the need to remove negative influences such as drugs and cultism from the industry.
She hinted at the complexities of the situation, suggesting that some industry figures were reluctant to speak out against Naira Marley due to affiliations with the same "cult."
The journalist proposed the involvement of a court-appointed probate lawyer to handle Mohbad's music assets, in case Naira Marley released the funds, predicting a potentially bitter legal battle.
She also criticized those who had advised Mohbad to endure the situation, likening it to staying in a toxic relationship, and highlighted the potential health consequences of such stress.
