The spokesperson of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr. Benjamin Fabian, has stated that Ejikeme Joy will face prosecution in court. Ejikeme Joy has been accused of intentionally falsifying her score and falsely claiming to be the top scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The board's statement, released on Sunday, revealed that Ejikeme manipulated her score in order to secure a N3 million scholarship from Innoson Motors. JAMB has provided an update on the scandal, suggesting that Ejikeme might not have been the mastermind behind the crime, speculating that unknown individuals could be exploiting the situation for their benefit. The security agency is currently profiling Ejikeme, who is a minor, and investigating the matter. Although Ejikeme was arrested, she has been released on bail. The spokesperson highlighted a similar incident in Kaduna, where a student faked his results without even sitting for the exams, underscoring that this is not the first occurrence of such fraudulent behavior. The investigation into Ejikeme's case continues as JAMB seeks to bring those responsible to justice.
