Israel DMW, the aide of the renowned singer Davido, has issued an apology on behalf of his boss to Muslims for a controversial music video that was promoted.
The public became outraged on Saturday, July 22, when DMW chief shared a snippet of the music video 'Jaye Lo' by his signee, Logos Olori, on his Twitter page.
The video was criticized for its perceived desecration of the Islamic religion, leading to protests by Northern youths who even vandalized banners bearing the singer's face.
Amidst the controversy, Israel DMW has appealed for understanding and love, as he offers his apology to those who were offended.
According to Israel DMW, the music video was meant to be entertainment but was presented wrongly. He explains that Davido, as part of his usual support for budding artists, wanted to help promote Logos Olori, but the execution of the video turned out to be misguided.
In his words: "Let me specially apologize to my Muslim brothers and sisters for the video my oga posted. It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented. He wanted to lift up somebody, which is one of his hobbies. Make una no vex. Love you all."
