A Nigerian man, who identified himself as a chairman in Ikorodu, has recounted the events that transpired in the midnight of September 12 in Ikorodu, shortly after the passing of Mohbad. According to his account, the father of the late singer had intended to conduct a burial ceremony for him in the middle of the night on the very same day he passed away. However, he intervened and prevented this from happening.
The statement, originally made in the native language but translated into English by GistREEL, reads: "I didn't allow them to bury him. They wanted to bring him at midnight. He called me, but I initially refused and told him he can't be buried at midnight, not here."
