It has been reported that Ismail Maihanci, a Nigerian politician and member-elect of the House of Representatives for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, has passed away. He was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and died in the early hours of Saturday. Maihanci was born on October 22, 1986, and worked as a businessman and a Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku. Prior to this, he served as the Secretary of the PDP in Taraba State. The funeral will take place later in the day in accordance with Islamic customs.
Bashir Ahmed tweeted the news of Maihanci's passing and expressed condolences: "I have just received sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus."
