Taking to their official Twitter page, the management of Guinness World Records emphasized the importance of registering record-breaking attempts before undertaking them.

The motivation for this reminder came after Hilda Baci successfully completed a 100-hour cook-a-thon, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among Nigerians to set their own records.

In their tweet, Guinness Records stated, "Polite reminder that you should probably have your world record title confirmed by our team before attempting it."

This message triggered a significant response from Nigerians, who felt it was directed at them and their recent endeavors.

Akash commented, "This message is for Nigerians."

Emperor wrote, "GWR trying to go through the corners like we wouldn't notice."

Gabriella added, "This tweet is for my fellow Nigerians 🤣😂. Especially those in Ekiti and Ondo State."

Ichie Zeb expressed, "But some records in GWR were not confirmed or applied before they were set."

Ogbu chimed in, saying, "To whom it may concern: Nigerians! GWR will wake up and see tweets that someone is attempting to break one of their records, they will check their mailbox, and there's no exchange of emails between them and the person."
