Sonia, the daughter of former Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Ike Ekweremadu, has expressed her shock and disagreement with the sentencing of her parents. In an interview with BBC, she revealed that she will always be on her parents' side, hence her bias in the situation. Sonia also opened up about her health condition, disclosing that she has lymphatic syndrome but was not involved in the search for a kidney. She further added that she has received numerous donor offers since the case became public.
Earlier today, reports came in that Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, along with their accomplices, were sentenced to nine years and eight months imprisonment for their involvement in a plot to harvest a man's kidney. Beatrice was also sentenced to four years and six months imprisonment.
