A video capturing Nigerian singer Darey Art Alade's visit to the grave of the late Sound Sultan has evoked strong emotions online.
Darey Art Alade, a celebrated Nigerian singer-songwriter, had a deeply emotional moment as he paid his respects at the final resting place of his late colleague, Sound Sultan.
In a video shared on Instagram, Darey was seen tenderly placing flowers at the gravesite and, overcome with emotion, broke down in tears.
He expressed his heartfelt regret for not having visited earlier and earnestly asked for forgiveness from the spirit of Sound Sultan.
Accompanying the video, Darey wrote a touching message that read,
"Lanre, since your sudden departure, I’ve only just been able to visit your gravesite. Ma binu. You know how these things go. Farida and the kids miss you much. We all do in our own various ways."
He acknowledged the challenges faced since Sound Sultan's passing and expressed gratitude to God despite the difficult times.
