Godwin Emefiele, has reportedly been asked to pay the sum of ₦300 million for bail by a Nigerian court, as reported by Punch News.
According to the judge’s ruling, the former CBN governor needs to find two individuals who can each provide the same amount of money as a guarantee.
These individuals must possess property ownership documents within the Maitama district.
Emefiele is required to surrender all his travel documents to the court registrar and stay within the Abuja Municipal Council boundaries. Until he fulfills the bail conditions, he’ll remain at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
Despite not being present in court today, Emefiele had previously been held at Kuje Prison, although another court had previously ordered his release in a human rights lawsuit against the government.
The trial is set to commence on November 28, as adjourned by the court.
